Chocolate Sculpture ( violin )

As for our final project, we are required to make a sculpture from a chocolate.  Our group choose to make a violin. This task is quite hard to make it at first because we have to make a real shape and size of a violin. But, with our lecturers guide we managed to make it. The method in making this violin is quite similar to chocolate box.
This is how we made our violin chocolate mold.

Step 1:
As usual, we have to melt the chocolate using the same method in making a chocolate box. After the chocolate completely melt, tempered it in a big tray and let it set for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 2:
Draw a violin, bow, stand and other violin parts on a manila card and cut it according to the shape.

Step 3:
Trace the chocolate according to the shape of the manila card before. Cut two of the violin body shape, one bow and two stands.

Step 4:
After cutting all the part, we paste the body part with a piece of square chocolate for the side of the body. Trim the chocolate until it smooth.  Then draw the F hole on the top of violin.

Step 5:
Trim the bridge of the violin and paste it on the top of violin. Then, we put chinrest of the violin and trim it to make it join with the tail piece that paste after putting the chinrest part.

Step 6:
We make the neck of the violin using the wire that we put inside the two chocolate that we combined together to make it strong.

Step 7:
By using four piece of chocolate combined together we carved it to make a scroll. Next we make the tuning part using the chocolate that we carved into the tuning shape.

Step 8:
Using the tempered chocolate we cut the shape of the violin stand and paste the two piece of chocolate to make one stand.  In between the  chocolate we put a wire inside to make standable.  As for the string we use the wire that is coat with chocolate.

Step 9:
To make a bow we trace the bow shape on the tempered chocolate and put the wire between and carved it to the shape of the bow. Lastly, spray the violin with clear spray to make it shiny.
